Privacy Policy
OpenHomeVue — a product of RenaVue Technologies LLC Effective date: May 25, 2026 Last updated: May 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how RenaVue Technologies LLC ("we," "our," or "us"), the operator of OpenHomeVue, collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the OpenHomeVue mobile app and website (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address — used to create and manage your account via our authentication provider (Clerk)
- Name / display name — used to identify you to co-buyers and agents you collaborate with
- Authentication method — whether you signed up via Google, Apple, or email
1.2 Content You Provide
- Property notes — text notes you write during or after home visits
- Photos — photos you capture or select from your library and attach to properties
- Scoring and ratings — property ratings, impression ratings, and scoring criteria you define
- Comments — messages you leave on properties and trips, visible to your watch list collaborators
- Trip data — property lists, visit itineraries, and scheduling information you create
- Calendar events — when you add a trip to your device calendar, the app writes an event (trip name, date, time, and stop addresses) to your chosen calendar. We do not read your existing calendar data.
1.3 Location Data
- Precise location — when you are actively planning or executing a trip, we access your device's GPS location to display your position on the map and assist with route planning. We request precise location only when you are actively using the trip feature.
- Coarse location — used to provide contextually relevant information (e.g., nearby properties). We do not transmit or store a continuous location history.
Location data is used solely for the in-app map and trip features. It is not sold, shared with advertisers, or used for tracking.
1.4 Device & Technical Data
- Crash reports and error logs — collected automatically to identify and fix bugs. These do not contain personally identifiable content.
- App usage diagnostics — aggregate, non-identifiable usage patterns used to improve the Service.
- Push notification token — when you grant notification permission, your device generates a unique push token that we store in order to deliver notifications (trip reminders, collaborator activity). This token identifies your device but not your identity.
1.5 Payment Information
The service is currently for home buyers only, and free of charge.
2. How We Use Your Information
| Purpose | Data used |
|---|---|
| Account creation and authentication | Email, name, auth method |
| Displaying your profile to collaborators | Display name |
| Storing and syncing your watch list, notes, and photos | Property content, photos |
| Enabling collaboration with co-buyers | Display name, notes, scores, comments |
| Trip map and route planning | Precise location (session-only), trip data |
| Crash diagnosis and quality improvement | Crash logs (anonymized) |
| Sending transactional emails (e.g., invitations) | Email address |
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. How We Share Your Information
3.1 With Collaborators You Invite
Content you add to a shared watch list — property notes, photos, scores, impression ratings, and comments — is visible to co-buyers and agents you have connected with. You control who you invite and can remove collaborators at any time.
3.2 With Service Providers
We work with third-party providers who process data on our behalf:
| Provider | Purpose | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
| Clerk | Authentication and identity | Email, name, OAuth tokens |
| Supabase | Database and file storage | Watch list data, notes, photos, push tokens |
| Apple / APNs | Push notification delivery | Push notification token, notification payload |
| Resend | Transactional emails | Email address |
| Expo / EAS | App delivery and OTA updates | App installation identifiers |
Each provider is bound by their own privacy policies and, where applicable, data processing agreements with us.
3.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of OpenHomeVue, our users, or others.
3.4 Business Transfers
If OpenHomeVue is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:
- Your profile, watch list, notes, and photos are deleted within 30 days.
- Crash logs and anonymized diagnostic data, which cannot be linked back to you, may be retained for up to 12 months for quality analysis.
5. Your Choices and Rights
5.1 Access and Correction
You can view and update your display name and account information within the app under Settings → Account info.
5.2 Data Deletion
You can delete individual notes, photos, or properties at any time within the app. To delete your entire account, go to Settings → Delete account.
5.3 Location Permissions
You can revoke location access at any time in your device's Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → OpenHomeVue. Trip and map features require location access to function; other features are unaffected.
5.4 Push Notifications
You can disable push notifications at any time in your device's notification settings.
5.5 California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and its amendment, the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
- Right to Know — request a specific disclosure of the personal information we hold about you, beyond the general categories described in §1.
- Right to Correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
- Right to Delete — request deletion of your personal information. You can also delete your account directly in the app under Settings → Delete account.
- Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information — precise location is classified as sensitive personal information under CPRA. You have the right to limit its use to what is strictly necessary to provide the Service (trip mapping). We already limit it to this purpose, but you may also revoke location access entirely in your device settings (see §5.3).
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing — we do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Right to Non-Discrimination — we will not deny you the Service, charge you different prices, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised any of these rights.
How to submit a request: Use the contact form at https://openhomevue.com/contact.
We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need additional time (up to 45 more days), we will notify you of the extension and the reason.
5.6 European Economic Area and United Kingdom
OpenHomeVue is intended solely for use in the United States. The Service is not directed at, marketed to, or intended for residents of the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom. If you are located in the EEA or UK, please do not use the Service. If you have already created an account, please delete it via Settings → Delete account.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures:
- All data in transit is encrypted via TLS.
- Supabase Row Level Security (RLS) ensures each user can access only their own data.
- Photos and files are served via signed URLs with expiration.
- API keys and secrets are never exposed to client-side code.
- Authentication tokens are stored in device secure storage (Expo SecureStore).
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to protecting your data.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, notify us via the contact form at https://openhomevue.com/contact and we will delete it promptly.
8. Third-Party Links and Integrations
The Service may display or link to third-party listing sites (e.g. California Megan's Law website, National Sex Offender Public website, Redfin, MLSListings, Zillow). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Visiting these sites is subject to their own privacy policies.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via in-app notice at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
